Head Bartender of the Embassy Marcelo Lazaro whipped up glasses of the classic recipe, a 3:1:1 ratio of Pisco, lime juice and sugar, plus egg white and Angostura bitters. Eight DC area bar stars then demonstrated their spirited takes on the tipple. Juan Jimenez of Mio mixed up a version with tart and tangy passion fruit.

We had a pleasant surprise last friday when CNN en Espanol used MIO as a backdrop for the recent federal economic report signaling an up click in the economic recovery. Washington, 13 dic (EFE).- La cocina peruana sedujo esta pasada noche a la capital estadounidense en una velada auspiciada por la embajada de Perú que congregó a varios centenares de comensales, entre ellos diplomáticos, altos funcionarios e intelectuales.

“Estamos en realidad celebrando en la capital norteamericana un año extraordinario de la culinaria peruana en el mundo”, dijo a EFE Guillermo Gonzales Arica, ex secretario de la presidencia de Perú y “chef invitado” del restaurante Mio, que acogió el evento.
